Sanitary Pad Kit Donation
Sanitary Pad Kit Donation
There are many myths and taboos surrounding menstruation in Nepal. That can make it difficult for girls and women to buy products to manage their monthly cycle, especially in villages like the ones surrounding the SHEdesigns program. This means that girls are often unable to attend school on the days that they have their periods and miss up to two months of school a year from menstruation alone. This affects their exam passing rates, dropout rates, and the types of employment they can find later in life. These factors contribute to a high rate of marginalization and exploitation of village girls and women in Nepal.
Our program provides free washable, reusable, eco-friendly sanitary pad kits to girls in the village schools, as well as other impoverished girls and women and those affected by all too common natural disasters (such as earthquakes, floods, and landslides).
Each donation of $6 covers the cost of the materials and labor for one sanitary pad kit and offers the recipient the chance to live normally and pursue her dreams with dignity. Thank you in advance for your generosity!
Note: kits are donated to women in need in Nepal, not shipped to buyers.
